AniEvo ID – This news comes from the official X account @kingpropose, and it's great news for fantasy light novel fans! The King's Proposal has officially been announced to be getting a TV anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere in 2027!
The announcement came alongside a teaser visual featuring Saika Kuozaki flashing a confident smile. On top of that, the voice actress for the lead character was revealed right away!
Rie Takahashi Voices Saika Kuozaki!
Saika Kuozaki will be voiced by Rie Takahashi. Anime fans will no doubt recognize the name, as she has voiced a long list of popular characters.
Other details, such as the animation studio, director and the rest of the voice cast, have not yet been announced. The premiere has also only been pinned down to 2027, with no specific season or month given.
From the Creators of Date A Live!
The King's Proposal light novel is written by Koshi Tachibana with illustrations by Tsunako. The duo is widely known for the Date A Live series, so it's no surprise that many fans already have high hopes for this anime adaptation.
The series has been published by Fujimi Shobo since September 2021 and has released eight volumes so far. The English version is published by Yen Press.
Beyond the light novels, there is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Nemo Kurio, serialized on Square Enix's Gangan Online platform.
The World's Strongest Sorceress and an Ordinary Student
The story centers on Saika Kuozaki, the world's strongest sorceress, who has been gravely wounded. Before her condition worsens, she passes both her power and her body on to Mushiki Kuga, an ordinary high school student.
From then on, Mushiki must attend a mage academy while disguised as Saika, keeping his true identity hidden. At the same time, he also has to help protect the world from a threat of destruction that emerges once every 300 hours.
This unique premise gives The King's Proposal a charm all its own, blending fantasy action, comedy and a touch of romance.
